RFE/RL, Inc. is a private, nonprofit corporation funded by a grant from the U.S. Congress through the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM). Due to RFE/RL’s special character, the countries in which RFE/RL operates, and the type of work RFE/RL performs, it is RFE/RL's obligation to verify the accuracy of information provided by each applicant in order to ensure the safety and security of our employees and workplace. 1/In case of DC located positions: Pre-employment check from public sources.
With respect to the above, all applicants are informed that: RFE/RL may use information from public sources during its selection process to perform one-time pre-employment checks which are conducted by RFE/RL; personal data (mainly name, surname, address, date of birth, personal identification number, telephone number, e-mail address ) will be collected and processed by RFE/RL for a maximum period of one year.
2/In case of Prague located positions: Pre-employment background check.
With respect to the above, RFE/RL informs you, as an applicant, that your employment at RFE/RL is contingent on the successful completion of pre -employment check.
Therefore after your acceptance of RFE/RL‘s offer letter, you will be subject of pre-employment check (performed by external Czech entity). Detailed information about collection and processing of your personal data in this matter will be provided to you together with the offer letter.
Privacy Notice for RFE/RL Internship or Fellowship Applicants
The process described above under point 2/ largely applies to applicants for internships and fellowships as well – simply replace the word “employment” with “internship” or “fellowship” as applicable.
By replying to this advertisement, you provide the controller with your personal data for the purposes and the duration of the selection procedure. In connection with processing your data, you have the respective right: (i) to access the data, (ii) to correct or complete inaccurate or false data, (iii) to delete the data if it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it has been collected or processed, or if it has been collected illegally, (iv) to limit the data processing in special cases, (v) to transfer the data, (vi) to object to the data processing which will therefore be terminated, unless there are serious legitimate grounds for processing which outweigh your interests, rights, and freedoms, especially if the reason is an enforcement of legal claims, and (vii) to contact The Office for Personal Data Protection.
